WHAT CONDITIONS REFUGEES ARE IN

Finding new homes, escaping their old life, to find safety and shelter and food to eat and water to drink so they don't starve. They also have difficulty finding a job and some locals have a bad attitude towards them.

Thousands end up stranded on one side of the border or the other, without food or sanitation. "The biggest thing that hits me is just the desperation of people when you see migrants come in," says Katherine Roux, communications officer for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies,As quoted by MSMB. "I mean you know how far they have walked. They're carrying baggage, blankets. It's really devastating."

Much worse. In Libya's climate of fear and uncertainty, "we're talking about potentially 200,000 to 300,000 people over a year who could try to cross the Mediterranean towards Europe," says European Affairs Minister Laurent Wauquiez. And that could be a conservative estimate. Gadhafi had closed off possible migration routes of millions of sub-Saharan migrants, as part of a deal with Italy, but that agreement has been suspended since the revolts broke out.

WHAT REFUGEES FACE

Helping refugees we help us to so if they come to are country we will not get any desces that they mite have. And with the afghanistan ar on there will be more and more refugees looking for safer places the live.Since the 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, more than 6 million Afghan refugees have become the world's largest refugee population. Although refugees in Pakistan and Iran are now beginning to repatriate, continuing political turmoil in Afghanistan and children's acculturation and educational opportunities will keep many Afghans in the United States permanently. Although there are no accurate statistics, local resettlement agencies and Afghan community leaders estimate that there are 10,000 to 35,000 Afghans in northern California. They suffer from a variety of problems common to refugees: language, economic and occupational problems, and substantial challenges in psychological, family, social, and cultural adjustment to the United States. Although many Afghans are doing well, many others have depression, psychosomatic symptoms, and posttraumatic stress disorder.
